BigCommerce have acknowledged the issue. They've said:
BigCommerce engineers are currently investigating an issue causing 401 responses for a subset of installed applications. We will provide an update shortly.

Identified -
At approximately 8 PM UTC, we received reports of customers receiving an "Invalid client id" when trying to load the Metafields Manager app.
After investigating, we determined this appears to be an issue on BigCommerce's side. We opened a support ticket and messaged our contacts to ensure that this receives urgent care.
We are currently waiting for an update from BigCommerce.
